Asking for reassurance for the well-being sector

  • Speeches in Parliament

I was very disappointed today not to be allowed to take part in the debate on sport in Westminster Hall. It was heavily oversubscribed and although I applied to speak very early I did not make it into the first 15 on the speakers list.

However - I did get called in the PM’s statement (although it was Matt Hancock answering due to the PM’s connectivity issues) where I specifically asked for reassurance for the well-being sector. At this time of year it is much harder to exercise outdoors than it was in the summer and it is crucial we give people the opportunity to look after their physical and mental well-being.
